Court guide

First hole :(Par 4)

It is a long par 4 hole with a commanding tee facing a wide fairway. The best landing position of the first shot should be located on the right side of the fairway towards the bunker, which in turn selects a wide Angle for the second shot to hit the green. Due to its classic raised green design and the protection of sand ponds on the left and front of the green, it is recommended that you choose a larger club to make up for the uphill terrain to avoid a lack of distance.

Second hole :(Par 5)

This is a long, narrow par 5 with a beautiful view and a landscaped stream running through the hole to the right of the fairway. If the tee shot is far enough and lands in the fairway next to a stream, there is a chance of a two-shot approach to the green, whereas if the ball hits the water or the bunker, the player will have to pay at least one more shot.

3rd hole :(Par 4)

This hole is a short par 4, due to the small area of the green and hard, the first shot you need to accurately hit the fairway to make the second shot can be smooth on the green. So it is wiser to use a 3-wood or iron to tee off. If the golfer hits the green with his second shot, he has a good chance of making birdie on this hole.

4th hole :(Par 3)

A mid-range par three, the first hole to be played along the community river. Giant, millennia-old ginkgo trees stand at the back of a green surrounded by large bunkers.

5th hole :(Par 4)

A long par 4 where the best landing spot is over the bunker on the left side of the fairway. The left side of the green surrounds the river and the right side is protected by a bunker making this hole one of the toughest par-4 holes on the course.

Sixth hole :(Par 3)

This is a scenic par 3 hole that is well protected by bunkers and lake water. There is an area on the right front of the green that allows for errors. Do not try to go straight at the flagpole when it is on the left side of the green, as the chances of the ball going in the water are high.

7th hole :(Par 4)

It's a short par 4 with a long, narrow fairway and undulating greens. An accurate short iron will help you score well on this hole environment.

8th hole :(Par 5)

This is one of the most dramatic holes in the field. There is a ten-metre drop between the tee and the fairway. The stream running through the left side of the fairway and the bunkers located in the fairway require a lot of accuracy. Only those who hit very far have a chance to two-stroke a green with a beautiful stream in the front and a bunker in the back. Although the distance is much longer, this hole is very similar to the 13th hole at Augusta, the famous host of the Masters.

9th hole :(Par 4)

This is a very difficult end hole on the front nine, the par 4, the first shot requires a long drive and precise avoidance of the bunker on the left side of the fairway. The second shot requires a long iron or wood to hit a green that is large but protected by water hazards, and Par is a good score here!

10th hole :(Par 3)

This is the beginning of the back nine, and the best landing spot for the first shot is on the left side of the fairway near the left bunker, from where you can choose a mid-range iron to hit the green at the top of the hill. If it's too far to the left, the ball will roll back into the fairway and leave a more difficult cut.

11th hole :(Par 4)

This is a par 4 with a bit of a right curve, and there is a low and dangerous valley slope on the right side that extends to the green. It is advisable to use a 3-wood or long iron to tee off in order to secure a good position for a small green protected by a bunker in front.

12th hole :(Par 3)

A long par 3 with a large area on the left side of the green is protected by three large bunkers. The greens are low and the same golfer needs to play with about three different clubs depending on the hole position.

13th hole :(Par 4)

This is an interesting par 4 hole, the unique two-lane design caters to the players' psychological characteristics of self-challenge, but also adds a sense of adventure. The design of the fairway on the right side of the hole is relatively safe. If you successfully hit the left fairway, the second shot on the green will be much easier. A very typical challenge reward course design.

14th hole :(Par 5)

The right side of the fairway on this long par-5 hole is wrapped in lake water, and a Par or birdie is possible if the ball is kept out of the water. But for players who often play the right curveball, the chance of missing a shot here is greatly increased.

15th hole :(Par 4)

It's a long par four, with headwind, and it's not an exaggeration to say it's a par five. A long tee shot from the ladder, through a bunker to the right of the fairway, is a prerequisite for a good par four. The shape of the hole slopes to the back, so controlling where your ball lands on the green is a time to test your game. There are bunkers around the other hole area, if the second shot can not avoid the bunker, the par will not be with you.

16th hole :(Par 4)

This hole is one of the two signature holes of the course designer, which spans a 50-meter deep quarry valley and is the only course view in the Shanghai area and even in the world. The short par 4 hole has a good shot on the green for many players who hit it far, but an iron tee shot may be more secure. There is a large bunker on the right side of the small green, which is also designed to prevent golfers from falling into the quarry!

17th hole :(Par 3)

This short par 3 hole is another of the designer's signature holes. The hole also spans the quarry valley 50 meters deep, if the distance is short, the ball will certainly fall into the quarry valley, in order to prevent players from accidentally falling into the quarry 50 meters deep, near the tee side has a special ladder to climb up! The most prominent feature of Sheshan Golf Course is the challenging and daunting deep valley, holes 16 and 17 are around and through the valley to both respect this wonderful landscape and inspire a wonderful shot. The two holes will be not only the course itself, but also designer signature holes in the Shanghai area.

18th hole :(Par 5)

This is a right dogleg par 5, with two large lakes to the right of the fairway to test the short iron left by the golfer's two precise long drives to the peninsula green. Even golfers who have been playing well throughout the round or who have placed a lot of bets on the hole will find the lake on the front path of the green a bit frightening at this moment and will likely result in a fall. The hill behind the green and the clubhouse across the lake give spectators a great view of the final moments of the game.
